As a Healing Touch for Animals® practitioner I use the highest intention for energy healing through me to the dog, cat, horse or animal.
What is energy? It is all around us. We are energy, our dogs are energy, the plants are energy and I think you get it. Yoda said it best “Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us, binds us.”
Our cells use energy to grow, create enzymes, hormones, and more to help our body live. The image below shows how much energy effects our body.
The Healing Power of Touch: How Energy Work Supports Your Animal’s Well-being
Animals are deeply connected to the energy around them. From the way they sense emotions to how they respond to subtle shifts in their environment, their bodies are designed to feel energy flow. Healing Touch for Animals (HTA) is an energy-based therapy that works with the body’s natural systems—bringing balance, harmony, and deep relaxation. But how exactly does it work, and how does it affect different body systems?
Energy, Chakras, and the Body’s Natural Balance
Healing Touch works by restoring the body’s energy flow, helping to release blockages that may be causing discomfort or emotional distress. Animals, like humans, have an energy field (biofield) and chakras, which act as energy centers influencing their physical and emotional health. When energy is stagnant or unbalanced, it can affect different systems in the body.
Let’s explore how energy healing supports key body systems:
1. Nervous System: Calming Stress & Anxiety
The nervous system controls everything from movement to emotional responses. Energy healing helps shift the body from a fight-or-flight state (sympathetic nervous system) to a rest-and-repair state (parasympathetic nervous system). This is why many animals immediately relax during HTA sessions—it helps reduce anxiety, tension, and even trauma responses.
Signs of Nervous System Balance: A calmer demeanor, better sleep, reduced nervous behaviors like pacing or licking.
2. Circulatory & Lymphatic Systems: Enhancing Flow & Detoxification
The body’s ability to circulate blood, oxygen, and lymphatic fluids is key to maintaining overall health. Healing Touch encourages better circulation and lymphatic drainage, which can help detoxify the body and support healing from injuries.
Signs of Improved Flow: Increased energy, quicker recovery after exertion, and reduced swelling or stiffness.
3. Musculoskeletal System: Relaxing Tension & Aiding Mobility
Energy work supports muscle relaxation, joint mobility, and fascia release. By balancing the flow of energy, Healing Touch can help ease tension, stiffness, and pain. Many animals experience relief in areas where they previously held discomfort, allowing them to move more freely.
Signs of Musculoskeletal Balance: Increased range of motion, improved posture, and a willingness to move without hesitation.
4. Digestive System: Supporting Gut Harmony
The gut is directly linked to the nervous system, often called the “second brain.” Energy imbalances in the body can lead to digestive upsets, poor nutrient absorption, or sensitivities. Healing Touch can promote gut motility and ease digestive discomfort by supporting energy balance in the lower chakras.
Signs of Digestive Balance: Fewer stomach upsets, better appetite, and improved digestion.
5. Emotional & Behavioral Well-being: Releasing Trauma & Fear
Animals can hold onto emotional energy just like humans. Past traumas, fear, and even changes in environment can create energy blockages that manifest as behavioral issues. Healing Touch helps to clear emotional energy, allowing animals to feel safer, more confident, and connected.
Signs of Emotional Balance: Less reactivity, more trust in humans and other animals, and a greater sense of peace.
Healing from the Inside Out
Healing Touch for Animals is not about “fixing” something—it’s about creating an environment where the body can naturally restore itself. Whether your pet is recovering from an injury, dealing with anxiety, or simply in need of relaxation, energy work provides a gentle, effective way to bring balance.
If you’ve ever noticed how your touch can comfort your pet, then you already understand the power of energy work. Imagine what’s possible when that healing touch is intentionally guided to support their whole-body wellness.
