5. What are some creative ways to keep your dog active during harsh weather conditions like cold, wind, snow, or ice?
Dog fitness. Question number five. What do I do when it’s snowy outside? Rainy, cold, windy. There’s a lot we can do with our dog on days that are bad and it helps build that bond with our dogs. Go to question number two. That’s the puzzle toys that I talked about. Question number four was senior dogs in their exercise. So there’s some tips there. When I’m. When it’s a windy day out there, I get on the floor with my dog.
When we get at the level of our dog, it’s just she brightens up like, oh, I can see your face. Also you’re working on your squats and your core. She can walk over my legs. I can play with her toys. I can do things so that it stretches her body and we’re interacting and having fun together. If you have an Irish wolfhound sit on a chair. So just come down to your dog’s level, you’ll see a totally different dog.
And it’s a fun thing. Inside activity when the outside is being kind of angry. The other things that we can do inside is various equipment that you can use to do exercises with. In senior dog, I give you some exercise tips. I’m going to give you more. Coming. That’s one idea. Another idea is Westpaw has a dog game. There’s little cards in here and that just gives you suggestions of things.
If you’re like, I don’t know what to do, it just gives you suggestions and thinking outside the box. Because sometimes when my dog does something, even I’m like, oh, that’s a great idea. Let’s expand on that. So use it as creative time for the two of you to be together. If you love snowshoeing, go out and snowshoe with your dog. Cross country, ski with your dog. Depending on where you’re at, just make sure you obey all the rules of, you know, the wildlife.
Take their leash, take their harnesses, shoes, towels, treats, water, water for you, water for them. Make sure that you’re taking care of their body when you’re out there. Just like your body. If it’s raining out, go play in the rain. When’s the last time we went and played puddles in the rain? Bonus, your dog gets a bath at the same time. You can take some soap out there if you want, but come home, towel them off and you have a whole new dog.
It’s just go out, have fun, be creative. If you’re local, I have a dog fitness park. Great place to play in the snow. Time dogs, the snow dogs love it. I also have an inside area that you can come when the weather is unfriendly outside. You can come in here. I set up obstacle course courses, and it’s a place where you guys can play. I can leave cards for you so that you guys can engage with each other.
All right. I hope that helped. When the weather is outside and what to do with your dog, I want you guys to go out and live your best life together.
